This is a "Classic" Low Voltage RF Probe, based upon the designs from the pages of Magazines and ARRL Publications from the 60's For an excellent explanation of the workings, uses, expectations and limitations of this type of probe eBay does not permit me to include a link so do a web search for n5ese rfprobe (used with express written permission of the author) I call this a low voltage probe - since due to the limitations of space and available components - the input capacitor is rated at 50 Volts and the AC/RF Measurements are limited to 35 Volts based upon the Diode used (this is the normal range for this type of probe) It is also important to note, the main uses for this type of probe is for tracing of signals through a circuit and the actual voltage measurements are not generally as important as the relative measurements - I have attached several images showing the signal generator output and the resulting readings on my Heathkit IM-28 Benchtop Meter the readings show accuracy of +/-20% accross the range of 1K-30Mhz frequency ranges These probes are built with 4.7Meg Ohm resistor and are suitable for Meters with input Impedance/Resistance of 10-11 Meg Ohms The unit is presented in a Labeled, Retail Quality, Reusable, 4 Mil Poly Ziplock Bag and is wrapped with a Reusable Velcro Strip to keep the leads organized and ready.
