Description: Vintage SEARS Royal Egyptian men's mid-length boxer brief underwear with fly opening, by Sears Roebuck & Co. Solid cream / ivory color, with repeating golden triangle pattern along top of waist band. This is a rare waist band design for SEARS men's vintage underwear. Fabric is Egyptian cotton. Very soft knit fabric. Size is L (38 - 40). Wide waist band. Single-stitch leg opening hem. Made in U.S.A. Believed to date from the 1950s/1960s. New without tags. Recently hand-laundered after decades of storage. Measurements, all flat, un-stretched, approximate: Waist band length: 14 1/2 inches (29 inches all around);Waist band width: 1 1/4 inches;Leg opening: 7 3/4 inches (15 1/2 inches all around);Fly opening: 5 inches;Inseam: 3 inches;Outer seam: 17 1/2 inches. Excellent condition. No stains or spots. There are two small areas where the fabric has weakened with age, one on the side of the fly opening, and one in the seat area. In these two places, the fabric appears to have a small separation or pulled threads. See pictures. Odor-free. No dry rot. Fabric is soft. Waist band elastic has excellent stretching. Very clean.
