The pieces are made of Butterscotch colored Bakelite plastic. There are 5 included racks that are made of swirled plastic and metal. The items are all inside a carrying case (see photos). The set is vintage. This set is from an estate liquidation. The outer case has some obvious losses and signs of wear as shown (see photos). The racks have some wear, and some corrosion to the metal parts (see photos). There are 142 included tiles (photo #2 for a photo of the included tiles - other photos of the tiles are close up views of what is in photo 2). Each tile measures in total about 1.25 inches high, each tile is about 7/8ths of an inch wide and each tile is about 7/16th of an inch thick from the front side to the back. The carrying case measures about 3+ inches high, 19.5 inches wide, and it is about 9+ inches front to back. Some of the Mah Jong tiles have been painted and have tape on them for uses as jokers. The tiles have some minimal wear, and some paint loss as shown from normal use (see photos and / or written description for the condition of this item). This is a nice old vintage Mid Century Modern Bakelite tiles Mah Jong game set to add to your collection.
