Vintage 1920s Dress Halloween Masquerade Silhouette Black & White Satin Pierrot

Description: Stunning silhouette dress handmade in the 1920s for a black & white themed masquerade ball. White satin bodice is adorned with little black silk silhouettes. Bigger silhouettes in cameos of white satin accent the skirt. The black silk charmeuse skirt is a full circle cut on the bias for lots of gorgeous movement. Hidden side snap placket. Silk fabrics. Deaccessioned from a major museum collection. Fair/poor condition- frays at the hanger line of the shoulders, a repair on one underarm and small fray at the other underarm. Popped waist seams, overall scattered discoloration. Silhouettes were glued on by the original maker, the edges are rw and glue has darkened.
