Description: For sale is a vinyl record by Styx titled "Paradise Theater", originally released in 1981 by A&M Records with a gate-fold presentation cover and a laser etched record. In the dead wax between the labels and the last tracks is etched "Sterling TJ", followed by "EDP", indicating that this record was mastered at Sterling Sound of New York City, New York by Ted Jensen, then lacquered at Europadisk, also of New York City, before this album was made at Columbia Records' pressing plant, located in Terre Haute, Indiana. These are hallmarks of state-of-the-art engineering, sought after by collectors and music lovers for their superior sound qualities. I bought this used, professionally cleaned it on my VPI HW-17 machine and put it into a MFSL archival inner sleeve. This protects the integrity of the vinyl and any original inner sleeve(s) or insert(s) that may have come with the release. There is no original inner sleeve with this listing. The archival inner sleeve is Near Mint. The cover is graded as Very Good Plus because of edge rubs, stress cracks along the spine, corner blunts and some ball point ink on the front cover. The spine has color loss at the corners from these blunts, along with a little color loss along the edge from rubs. The vinyl is visually graded between Excellent and Near Mint Minus, because of superficial sleeve marks, but still with surfaces that are shiny and bright, without any surface scratches, scuffs or spindle marks on the labels. I'm play-grading it between Very Good Plus and Excellent because of some occasional pops and low level surface noise, most noticeable during the quietest sections of playback. It plays all the way through without any skips or lock-ups from start to finish. This has been played on Audiophile equipment since I bought it and still has a lot of life left to it. I think you would be hard pressed to find a copy of this album in this condition, especially a Terre Haute pressing. This would make a great addition to anyone's collection.
