The studs have an internal hex and a 3/16 Allen wrench is used to install them into your intake manifold. We also include flanged hex nuts and the proper size flat washers. Alloy Boltz uses larger diameter and thicker flat washers in our kits. Our flat washers give more support to your engine components. We also add split lock washers on some of the component kits to make sure things stay tight. The thin small diameter washers other sellers use offer almost no support and will cause your valve cover or oil pan rails to bend. If this occurs, the gasket will pinch and you will have oil leaks.
