Description: Excellent sounding 1957 Eico HF-20 tube hifi amplifier. I brought this amplifier up slowly on a variac and it needed nothing. I cleaned the pots and tube sockets and since I have at least 25 EL37s in my tube stash I was able to find a perfectly matched pair of Amperex Bugle Boy (Mullard) that worked beautifully and both are both running @ 43-44 ma plate current. Using EL37s dropped my plate voltage from 455dc to 421dc and the bias voltage from 40v to 33v. Of course you could change resistors to raise the bias but it sounds spectacular and will most likely double your tube life as-is so to me it's no brainer to leave it this way. Those EL37s will probably last another 40+ years of steady use this way. They both tested as new old stock. The only issue is the treble/on/off potentiometer switch shaft is broken off but it is still adjustable with screwdriver and you can simply use a switched power strip to turn it on/off with so instead of replacing it and therefore raising the price I chose to leave it be for the new owner to decide. This will be packed extremely safe for shipping. Thanks for looking and good luck.
