After 40 years in retail, we are liquidating our vast inventory—new items added regularly! Stunning and rare and unusual 1930's late Deco design 8 Day key-wind clock attributed to Cartier. This clock was purchased in a lot from the estate of a horological collector and has not been archive researched or authenticated but is finely stamped and hallmarked in four places and is high quality made. Case is heavy and made of solid sterling silver gilded in high karat yellow gold (known as vermeil). Inset panels of case are very high quality slabs of fine lapped natural bloodstone in excellent condition with no cracks or damage. Top is adorned by what appears to be a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel hand carved from natural fine peach jadeite with single cut natural diamond inset eyes. Ornately hand engraved face of clock has fired black enamel numerals with luminous hands. Seventeen jewel movement is by Zenith the respected Swiss watchmaker who produced movements for Rolex, themselves and others. Machine is in fine condition and keeps excellent time. Minor age spots noted on face and gold plating on some areas of the case adding to is gorgeous aged patina. Service history unknown and has no warranty. Case measures 3.5" tall X 2.5" wide X 1.5" deep. Clock is contained and protected in a later vintage genuine Cartier box (in poor condition see photos) which has been modified and specially fitted to the clock but clearly has been with it for a very long time. Clock weighs 261 grams total. Comes with two keys, one for winding and one for setting the time.
