Antique / Vintage Brown Painted Primitive Foot Stool / Bench

Description: This is an Antique / Vintage Brown Painted Primitive Foot Stool / Bench The stool is an estate item that we purchased quite some years ago. We do not have any information its age or provenance.The top and sides of the stool are made from 5/8" pine. The top was then covered with 1/8" plywood. There is a decorative 1/8" panel on both of the long sides. The panels are inset into the end supports so that the panels are flush with the end supports. The stool is assembled with finishing nails.The stool has an oval cutout at the center that facilitates picking it up and also adds to its visual appeal.The stool measures 14" x 7 1/2" x 6 7/8" tall. The stool weighs just under 3 1/2 pounds.The stool would be a great display piece on a fireplace hearth, in a kitchen, in an atrium, or outside on a deck or porch.ConditionThe stool is overall in very good with minor scrapes and scuffs on the paint, and a few minor chips and gouges on the wood commensurate with its age, use, and primitive nature. As found, the stool sat in a stable manner but it could rock very slightly. I added a single green felt pad to one of the legs and with that in place, the stool sits in a rock solid manner no wobble.The photos show the condition pretty accurately.
