Physically, this Sentia m3400 is in good overall condition considering its age with minor to moderate signs of wear and use to the exterior and interior of the laptop. The display lid, wings, palmrest and bottom cover of the laptop have surface scratches, marks and scuffs and shininess on the plastic surfaces from age and use. The left corner near the Ethernet port has splits in the plastic. Functionally, this Alienware is in near-flawless condition. The functionality of the built-in speakers is not known and not able to be verified due to missing and/or incompatible drivers; external speakers or headphones are recommended for audio output. The CPU has been refreshed with high quality Honeywell PTM7950 thermal interface material for significantly improved thermal performance and reliability. This Sentia m3400 will manage the heat from its internal components better than when new with this thermal material. This Alienware is best suited for light games of its era or before as it utilizes only integrated graphics. The original Alienware battery is included with the laptop but does not charge or hold a charge. The computer will need its battery replaced or be connected to power at all times. A fresh installation of Windows XP Home Edition with Service Pack 3 has been pre-installed along with system drivers, Windows updates and the latest compatible Intel graphics drivers on a new 128GB SSD mounted in an IDE-to-SATA adapter for increased responsiveness. The drive partitions have been properly aligned for XP for the longest possible storage life. Some Alienware-specific drivers or software may be missing due to the unavailability of downloads for this laptop. This Alienware predates the Dell-designed models that followed it and is becoming exceedingly hard to find and even harder in functional condition.
