Description: 1930s Wedding Dress Gown Satin & Lace Handmade w Slip, Romantic One-of-a-KindThis 1930s wedding dress is dreamy! This one-of-a-kind ivory-colored gown is made of satin and lace and is all handmade. Even the companion satin slip is handmade.I know the gentleman who’s mother wore this dress at her wedding – he is in his 80s and he was not the first born. While we don’t have an exact year for the dress, it was made in the 1930s. This dress is in incredible condition for being about 85-90 years old. There are some minor flaws which in our opinion are easily fixed and barely seen. Please review all photos and description carefully.Please excuse: There is a sheet under the dress (to keep it clean) in the photos on the porch so it may look bunchy. For the photos taken of the dress and slip on the bed, the sheet is very wrinkled. GOWN: The satin dress has a V neck, lace panels, lace across the bodice and 25 sexy buttons down the back.Attributes:Ivory-colored.Flattering but modest V-neckline with complementary V-shaped bodice lace under the bustline.Peek-a-Boo sheer lace panels down the back of the dress from the bodice lace to the end of the train. Also Peek-A-Book sheer lace panels from the neckline to under the arm between the dress and the sleeves.Lace bodice has satin lining.Gathers above the lace on the bodice gives fullness at the bust.Satiny swishy fabric moves with you.Long train will make a statement.25 cloth covered buttons with loopsSleeve dartsSmall shoulder pads to give structure to puff sleeves at the top.Slits at the bottom of the pointy-bottomed sleeves. Measurements of the dress: (all measurements are within about a half inch)From the front center V to the hem = 51 inches.Across the V-bodice (middle of the lace) = 14 inches across from side seam to side seam.Bust measures 34 inches but the gathers allow for some flexibility.Waist measures 27 inches.Hips measure just about 36 inches.Shoulders measured at the back from shoulder seam to shoulder seam at the top = 14-1/2 inches.Armpit to armpit = 17-1/2 to 18 inches across measured while on the dress form across the upper area of the middle of the bust.Armpit to bottom of sleeve slit – 18 inches in length. Bicep is approximately 14 inches around.Wrist is approximately 8 inches around.Top of shoulder seam to outer part of the bottom of sleeve hem = 27 inches Back center at the top of the buttons measured to the hem of the train = about 92 inches in length.The train is about 32 inches longer than the bottom of the front of the dress. Noted flaws of the dress: There are light stain marks on the train about 32 inches from the bottom hem – see photo.There is a light stain mark on the bottom of the front of the dress about 2 inches from the bottom hem – see photo.There is a bit of puckering partway down the train at the two points where fabric hanger loops are sewed to the lace panels – see photo.The satin on both the gown and the slip have some dimples. There are also random dimples and then lines near the seams in several places. I tried to show them in photos. They are not punctures and do not compromise the fabric – see photo.There is a bit of sheen wear along the folds of the breast gathers.A small area of the lace at the neck / shoulder line is compromised near the front right shoulder.Some of the button loops show light rust marks where they were looped over the button for years in storage. Once looped, they are not easily noticeable.Top button on the back is loose and there are loose fabric pieces around it. It needs to be secured – see photo.Small hole in the armpit between lace and satin.Missing snaps at the bottom of the sleeves at the slits.There are some loose threads in several places. There are several places with loose seam stitching.There is a light vinegar odor which continues to dissipate over time. Will require steaming / pressing after shipment and light odor can be treated at this time.There is a small ribbon that came with the dress that is not attached. Not sure where it came from. It will be included. SLIP Attributes:Floor length – approximate, depending on where the straps are adjusted and height of the person wearing it.V-neckDelicate adjustable straps can adjust from about 12 inches to 22 inches from where it attaches in the front to where it attaches in the back.All satin, slips over the head.One section in the back has an added piece of fabric cut on the bias to give swish and sway. Measurements of the slip: (all measurements are within about a half inch)From the front center V to the hem = 46 inches.Under the bust line at the side seams = 14-1/2 inches across from side seam to side seam.Back center measured to the hem = 43 inches in length.Waist - 32 inches across. This is approximate and will depend on how you adjust the straps.Hips = 44 inches, again it is dependent on the strap adjustments. ** When placed on the dress form, the slip was looser at the bustline and waist than the dress. The live model is wearing the slip under the dress and this is not noticeable. It seems like an easy alteration if desired.
