Description: StLouBrown's Bygone Day “Let Bygones be Back” Antique bill on account for Amasa Coleman, a customer of H.C. Bolton (Manufacturer of and Dealer In) Fine and Coarse Boots, Shoes and Slippers. Bolton’s store was located on the “New Brick Block, West Side of Square” in Canton, Illinois, 195 miles (314 kilometers) southwest of Chicago Bill is dated Feb. 26, 1881. It covers Coleman’s purchases back to Nov. 28, 1879 and includes “shoes for wife,” “boots for self,” “Waders,” “boys boots and shoes” and more for a total of $21.25, but there is a $4.27 credit, so Coleman owed $16.98. Bill measures 8 ¼” x 6 7/8”. All items have been stored in a smoke-free environment.
